The AXA Assistance Group, one of the world's largest global assistance and international healthcare management companies, is pleased to introduce AXA Assistance Panama as the new Plan Administrator for the Panama Canal Area Benefit Plan effective January 1, 2006. AXA Assistance Panama began preparations in September to begin serving the members of the Panama Canal Area Benefit Plan on January 1, 2006. AXA Assistance Panama is working in close cooperation with the Asociacion de Jubilados del Area Canalera, The Office of Personnel Management, in Washington, D.C. and with the Panamanian healthcare providers and business community.

To Plan Members:
  • Questions: You may contact us if you have any questions at our Chicago office at +312.935.3671.
  • New Membership Services Center: will be located at Via España 120. Corregimiento de Bella Vista conveniently located blocks from the AJAC offices with easy access to public transportation.
  • Public Forums: We will attend the AJAC Public Forums on November 19th in Panama City, and November 26th in Colon and will be available to answer your questions.
  • ID Cards: you will retain your current card we will provide a sticker for you to place on your current card with contact information for AXA Assistance Panama.
  • Provider Network: We are working diligently to contact and establish a relationship with all providers who presently participate in the PCABP and will conclude that prior to the start of the plan year.

To the Healthcare Community:
  • Provider contracting forums will be held at Medical Center's throughout Panama details to follow on dates and locations.
  • AXA Assistance Panama will take over complete management of the Plan activity effective January 1, 2006. All paper and electronic claim submissions submitted on or after January 1, 2006 should be directed to AXA Assistance Panama regardless of the date the services are rendered.
